You need to add the shaded area also... which is just pi(r^2) because you can see it’s 2 semicircle.

Sorry i don’t understand the working. Thought the surface area would : area of cross section of the solid machine X 2 (ie 37.9 x 2) + area of smalk n large rectangle ( 5x28x2+2x28x2) + the hollow semi circle which i don’t know how to find
