You sure this is sec 3 amath syllabus? I thought it's out of syllabus for those sitting in Olvl in 2021

Weirdly enough I have heard of this removal from the syllabus, but I have inspected the 2021 version of the A Maths syllabus and alpha beta is still there.

It is written on page 4 of the syllabus outline and is practically no different from the 2020 version.

Hmm i didn't check the syllabus myself, but now I'm curious. I looked at the sec 3 amath text book (new) and didn't see any alpha beta inside. It's certainty not in the quad eq section. There are two books A and B, perhaps its found in the other book.

Ok, I just checked that both variants are available - the current syllabus code 4048 is still open for 2021 examination, while a new syllabus code 4049 (with alpha beta removed) has been introduced for papers beginning 2021.

I guess that both options are open for the relevant schools.

Ya, they usually have two variants. It's not for sch though, it's for pte candidates who are retaking the paper, so they don't have to learn a new syllabus. So it's true.. The new syllabus don't have alpha beta haha
