Refractive index of water at 20 deg C, w = 1.33
Refractive index of typical crown glass, g = 1.52

By Snell’s Law,
w sin i = g sin r
sin r = (w/g) * sin i
r = arcsin [(w/g) * sin i]
= 42.8 degree (to 1 d.p.)
