Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
How to find r this is a physics qn sryyyy
If it is a correct line, just measure the acute angle between the line and the dotted line for the glass section.
Otherwise, values need to be provided for the refractive index of this glass (for example, n = 1.33).
2nd, this qn involves the topic of relative refractive index betw. 2 different media, not incl. vacuum/air.
Hv u been taught relative refractive index?
Fyi, if u r studying for O lvl, relative refractive index is not in the syllabus.
.
See 1 Answer
Refractive index of typical crown glass, g = 1.52
By Snell’s Law,
w sin i = g sin r
sin r = (w/g) * sin i
r = arcsin [(w/g) * sin i]
= 42.8 degree (to 1 d.p.)
