Here is my working

Factorise out the common term sin^2 x from the numerator
Continued from your working :
= sin²x(cos²x + sin²x)/cos²x
(factor out sin²x)
= sin²x(1)/cos²x (recall sin²x + cos²x = 1)
= tan²x
Alternatively you use the working that I've posted
= sin²x(cos²x + sin²x)/cos²x
(factor out sin²x)
= sin²x(1)/cos²x (recall sin²x + cos²x = 1)
= tan²x
Alternatively you use the working that I've posted
Thank you
