The answer is 8. The LCM of 6 and 8 is 24. The number 24 must contain all the factors of 6 and 8 (note that common factors of 6 and 8 are to be included only once).
Eg. 6 = 2x3
8= 2x2x2
Therefore, LCM = 2x2x2x3 = 24
Eg. 6 = 2x3
8= 2x2x2
Therefore, LCM = 2x2x2x3 = 24
