1st
1) Derive prime factors (anything that can be divided by 1 and itself)

2) common prime factors between the two numbers > multiply them

The answer is 8. The LCM of 6 and 8 is 24. The number 24 must contain all the factors of 6 and 8 (note that common factors of 6 and 8 are to be included only once).
Eg. 6 = 2x3
8= 2x2x2
Therefore, LCM = 2x2x2x3 = 24
