Suppose the (1-p)must be at LHS right?Since (1-p)^n-4 / (1-p)^n-3= we cut that 3 off right?

Use laws of indices...
n-4 - (n-3) = -1
So you'll get (1-p)^-1 instead
n-4 - (n-3) = -1
So you'll get (1-p)^-1 instead
