Take note that by using the given substitution, you have to substitute [dx] with [sec²θ dθ ].
Also take note that 1+tan²θ = sec²θ. This can be derived from basic trigonometric relationship (sin²θ +cos²θ =1) by dividing cos²θ throughout. Hope this helps.
