this is the question: the mist disappeared after a short time. Explain why?

The mist gained heat from the surrounding air and evaporated into water vapour.

b) There are two ways the mist may end up in.
(i) they combined into heavier droplets and drop like raindrops onto the floor or any surface.
(ii) if the surrounding temperature is high, they turn back to water vapour.

Case (i) is more likely happening. That's why you always see a patch of water on the floor under this situation.
