But may I ask. Why we get 3u x 3 and 5ux 3 and why total is 15
Because, the number of boys is unchanged.
So we need to make the units the same for both ratios for the boys.
Common factor of 2 and 3 is 6
(2 x 3 = 6, 3 x 2 = 6)
So the top ratio multiply by 3 and the bottom ratio multiply by 2.
Now the units are all the same size and therefore comparable

And when you multiply the boys, you have multiply the rest accordingly too
