Because, the number of boys is unchanged.

So we need to make the units the same for both ratios for the boys.


Common factor of 2 and 3 is 6
(2 x 3 = 6, 3 x 2 = 6)


So the top ratio multiply by 3 and the bottom ratio multiply by 2.


Now the units are all the same size and therefore comparable

The boys remained unchanged, therefore I made their units the same for before and after as well

And when you multiply the boys, you have multiply the rest accordingly too
