When battery is exhausted, current still can pass through... this is not the reason bulb didn’t light up. Still closed circuit.

Too many battery, can cause bulb blown.

See 1 Answer

Too high a current (too many batteries) can cause the bulb to blow.

Wire not connected properly to 6th battery means the circuit is open, so it's a possible explanation why the bulb isn't lit.

Potential energy of the battery is independent of whether the circuit is working or not.

Hope it clarifies.

Hi, if the battery has no potential energy, current can still pass through it. So it doesn't matter. Hope it clarifies.
