Let the numbers be equated to the following :

Greater number : 7 units
Smaller number : 1 unit

Difference = 6 units
Difference also = 2400

So 6 units = 2400

1 unit = 2400 ÷ 6 = 400

Sum of the two numbers

= 1 unit + 7 units
= 8 units

= 8 x 400

= 3200
