S and M are the midpoints of PQ and PT respectively.
Since the Midpoint Theorem states that the segment joining two sides of a triangle at the midpoints of those sides is parallel to the third side and is half the length of the third side,
SM // QT and SM = ½ QT.
The rest can be done by showing AA similarity i.e Eric's working. (Which is actually the midpoint theorem again)
