Here is the relevant sketch of the graph using Desmos. In that interval, the coordinates of the intercepts are (-pi/2, 0) for the x-intercept and (0, 1) for the y-intercept. The vertical blue and green lines are the boundary conditions for the curve.

The squaring of the f(x) in this integral negates the need to split the integral into the regions -2 to -pi/2 and -pi/2 to 1.

Hang on. Something is not right with my answer. Correct is 7.219.
Never mind, how stupid of me. The limits are 1 and -2, not 2 and -1. Rewriting my workings soon.
