Papaya
4 for $5 (all time 3)
12 for $15
Apple
3 for $2 (all time 4)
12 for $8
For 12 papayas and 12 apples, the price different = 15-8 =$7
For total papayas and april Alfred bought, the price different =$63
Therefore total papaya or apple Alfred bought = 63÷7 = 9 sets of 12.
a) Total papayas = 9×12 =108
Total fruit = 2×108 = 216 altogether.
b) Papaya = 108×5÷4 = $135
Apple = 108×2÷3 =72
Total= 135+72 =207 altogether.
Hope this helps

Check:

For Papayas →
216÷2 = 108
108÷4 = 27
27×$5 = $135

For Apples →
108÷3 = 36
36×$2 = $72

$135 - $72 = $63 √ √ √ √
$135 + $72 = $207 √ √ √ √
