6 doughnuts—-> \$7.20
Buy 6 the 7th at half price, @ \$0.60
Therefore 7 doughnuts—> \$7.80
\$96 / \$7.80 = 12 sets of 7 doughnuts Remainder \$2.40
12 x 7 = 84 doughnuts
\$2.40 can buy 2 doughnuts
Therefore \$98 can buy 84+2= 86 doughnuts.

Every 7 donuts = \$1.20 × 6 + \$0.60 = \$7.80;
12 x \$7.80 = \$93.60;
\$96 - \$93.80 = \$2.40;
Total donuts = 7 × 12 + 2 = 86
