But is it possible to use log to solve it?
You make it easier for you to see with the divisions and multiplication, then you factor out the common number.
Once you have done that, get rid of any denominators.
Then use substitution to make it easier for you to work and calculate

Actually this is much easier to understand.
Regarding your log, I've tried but it only makes the question more complicated given the fact that lg (a+b) cannot be separated and that your a and b variables have power on them.
Can I check if this question needs to be solved by lg?
