Please help. Thank you!
Number of dresses is therefore: s+96
She sold 75% of dresses: 0.75(s+96)
She sold 60% of skirts: 0.6s
She sold 126 more dresses:
0.75(s+96) = 0.6s + 126
0.75s + 72 = 0.6s + 126
0.15s = 54
s = 360
Number of skirts :360
Number of dresses: 360+96 = 456
She sold 60% of skirts = 360*0.6 = 216
She sold 75% of dresses = 456*0.75 = 342
In total, she sold 216+342 = 558 skirts and dresses.

This is where I made the mistake.
15% - 126 dresses
100% - 840 dresses
Apologies once again!
you have assumed that the number of skirts and dresses is the same, which is incorrect as the question already states there are 96 more dresses than skirts.
