Can someone explain the 'fully shared octet of electrons' to me? I'm very confused. Thanks!!!!

Fully shared octet means its electrons will be given to other elements to form bonds.

For example, carbon dioxide is CO2.
You see that oxygen atoms have 4 free electrons after pairing up with carbon atoms, whereas carbon atoms used up all its electrons to form bonds with both oxygen atoms.

This behaviour applies to all carbons in a compound.

Note: This is just a reference because I wasn't from JC.
