Length for AF = 12 cm - 4 cm
= 8 cm
Area of triangle AFB = 1/2 X 8 X 6
= 24 cm^2
Length for DC = 9cm -6 cm
= 3 cm
Area of triangle BDC = 1/2 X 3 X 4
= 6 cm ^2
Total area of shaded region = 24 cm ^2 + 6 cm ^2 =30 cm ^2
