Hi, I am Lloyd, a private tutor for young learners. I believe that education is not about the number of problem sums a child can solve but rather the number of ways a child can think of in solving a problem.

In our modern age, learning is not about indoctrination because information comes cheap. With an ease of access to the web, it is no longer difficult to find knowledge. As such, learning is not about how much one knows. It is about being aware of the avenues that one has yet explored. It is therefore imperative that students develop the ability to ask critical questions and remain hungry to learn.

As a private tutor, I strive to shape my tutee’s character into one that is inquisitive. Having an inquisitive mind will help the child find inspiration and ambition as he becomes more aware of the experiences he is exposed to. Like Albert Einstein once said – “Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.” On top of developing an inquisitive attitude, I aim to help students understand and appreciate the material. In doing so, a student will then be able to translate that knowledge into problems that they would face beyond that assignment or homework.

As a seasoned private tutor, I understand the challenges that young learners face in their curriculum. With an understanding of the tutee’s needs, I am able to work closely and help improve their understanding of their academic material.
