Let 1 adult ticket's cost be 2 units
Let 1 child ticket's cost be 1 unit
So for 8 adults, cost = 2 units × 8 = 16 units
So for 23 children, cost = 1 unit × 23 = 23 units
Total cost of all the tickets = 23 units + 16 units = 39 units
Since they paid $546 in total,
$546 = 39 units
1 unit = $546 ÷ 39 = $14
1 adult ticket's cost = 2 units = 2 x $14 = $28
