For part (a),

You are simply converting 150 gigametres to kilometres. Note that when you convert your unit from a larger unit to a smaller unit, your number becomes larger.

So to convert 150Gm (Giga is power 9) to km (Kilo is power 3), we will add 6 zeroes to the expression. Doing this gives us 150 000 000 km.

Standard notation will then be 1.5 x 10^8 km.
