strange, there are many prime numbers greater than 7. such as 23 and 29. he is maybe teaching the basics?

a prime number is a number that is divisible only by itself and 1. if you think about it, 11 cannot be divided by 2, 3, 5 or 7. it can only be divided by itself and 1, hence it is a prime number.

hope this helps!

Maybe the teacher meant “single-digit prime numbers”.

Of course, there are more than just the four basic prime numbers of 2, 3, 5 and 7.
