Energy is not required to form bonds.

Energy is released when bonds are formed.

but isnt the bond for water H-O-H... a bit confused about why it became 2O-H

There are 2 O-H single bonds in every water molecule, 1 on each side of it.


So if you have 2 water molecules formed that will be 4 O-H bonds being formed.
