Rebecca has 2m bunches, and each bunch has m roses.
Total number of roses she has at first = 2m × m
= 2 × m × m
= 2 × m²
(Recall that something multiplied by itself equals the square of itself. Eg. 2 × 2 = 2² = 4. This is similar to area where cm × cm gives cm²)
= 2m²
Roses given to mother = 6m
Roses given to sister = 2 × 6m = 12m
Total number of roses given away = 6m + 12m = 18m
Number of roses Rebecca has left
= 2m² - 18m
