A : shaded area : B = 5 : 2 : 9
Area of B = 126
9 units = 126
1 unit = 14
Determine the area of the whole figure.
Area of whole figure = Area of A - shaded Area + Area of B.
OR
Area of whole figure = Area of B - shaded Area + Area of A.
If we just add area of A and Area of B, the area of shaded area would be counted in twice.
Area of whole figure = 5 units - 2 units + 9 units =12 units
12 units = 14 x 12
12 units = 168
Area of B = 126
9 units = 126
