This can be solved by Mathematical Induction (M.I.)
You would also need to know Pascal’s Identity for this question, but I’m not sure if you actually need to memorise this identity for A level.
In normal situations (I think this is a relatively harder question), the examiners are more likely to ask you to prove Pascal’s identity in a first part, then ask you to use the identity to solve this particular question. Kind of guiding you in a way.
It’s been awhile since I took A Level, so the syllabus may have been revised.
