Dear Justin, Thank you for the help, however I do not understand how you arrive at 1 unit of boys being equal to 36 and 1 unit of girls being equal to 12. Pleas clarify. Thank you.

From the first equation, B = 72 - 3G. Substitute this into the second equation to get 5(72-3G) + 5G = 240 and solve for G. Then use the value of G and find B in first equation.
