I took 3/5 of 255 and that is 153 watermelons. I then took 3/4 of 240 and that is 180 oranges. Then 255-153=102 watermelons left. Then 240-180=60 oranges left. So is 1/8 of the watermelons equals to 102? Does that mean 1unit is equivalent to 102? And then I have to find 7units for the oranges?

yes you got it right, 1/8 of the remaining fruits is 102 watermelons, so you need to find the remaining 7 units (7x102=714) for oranges but you have to deduct the 1/4 of oranges (1/4x20=60) to find out how much more he bought (714-60)
