Currently: Bernard is 11 years old, Aaron is 11+3 = 14 years old. Difference is 3 years.
Every year, both Bernard and Aaron’s age increase by 1. Difference of 3 years still remain the same.
We find to find after how many years will the ratio of Bernard to Aaron’s age be 5:6. This means the difference of 3 years is now 1 unit (6units - 5units). Bernard will be 5units x 3= 15 years old and Aaron will be 6units x 3 = 18 years old.
For bernard to go from 11 to 15 years old/Aaron to go from 14 to 18years old, it takes 4 years. Answer is 4.
