Remember a straight line graph has format of y = mx + c. After solving the initial equation, we arrive at the answer of ex - 4. This is in the form of mx + c. So we know it gives a straight line. We then only need to solve for how many times those two line meet as that will give the number of solutions. We see from the graph they meet twice. So number of solutions is 2. Hope it helps!
