Hi! For this question you need to break down the diagram and be able to see that the shaded area in one of the small box ABCD is found by using area of the small box ABCD - area of 2 quadrant of the circle. After you get the shaded area inside one small box, all you need to do is multiply by 4 to get the total shaded area of the entire figure. Hope it helps!
