g(x) = x² + 1, find m when g(m-3) = 17
Substitute x = m - 3 into the equation.
g(m-3) = (m - 3)² + 1 = 17
(m - 3)² = 16
m - 3 = ±√16
m - 3 = 4 or m - 3 = -4
m = 7 or m = -1
