a) the number of dots = figure number + 2
Thus figure 23 needs 25 dots.
b) the number of sticks = (figure number) x 2 + 1
Thus 197 sticks = (figure n) x 2 + 1
(figure n) x 2 = 196
figure n = 98
figure 98 will have 197 sticks
