@ More than 1 possible method to factorise.
@ Equation (*) is in variable (small) x, whereas the immediate eqn that follows is in the variable (capital) X to distinguish between the two eqns. You may choose to use any other (dummy) variable (such as y) to make it clearer for yourself:)
