The basic form of sin x, cos x and tan x involve right angled triangles. There is one formula involving right angled triangles you learnt in... Sec 1(?): Pyhthygoras Theorem.
Form the right angled triangle, and from there you can get cos x and tan x.
Just to let you check your answer after you figure it out, (a) = 5/13, and (b) = 173/39
