We look for good bases to change to. Usually, the bases are prime numbers like 2, 3, 5, 7 or 11.

Yup! Here, we change it to bases 2, 3 and so on since we are supposed to simplify the expressions without the usage of calculators.

Bases e and 10 (meaning, ln and lg) are specially used for calculator usage, since these numbers have their special uses.

Multiplication by other 10s only adds zeroes to the back of the old number, while e has some uses.
