The aim for these complex numbers questions is to essentially make both sides of the equations be expressed in a similar form, in this case both sides in the form of a + bi.
For these 2 questions, one would need to eliminate the denominators of all the fractions, and this is done through multiplying throughout by a number equal to the product of all the denominators of the fractions. From there, its just simplifying the equation such that both sides are in the same form of a + bi, after that equate the real and imaginary sides of both sides of the equation together to get simultaneous equations to solve for x and y.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you need any queries!
