this question is on simultaneous linear & non-linear equations, and so should be under A Maths, not E Maths.

for this type of questions, many times the teacher/examiner are kind enough to set the question such that the answers are "nice" numbers. if it is expected that the answers are not exact values, the question normally says that answers should be given to ??? decimal places or ??? significant figures.

for this question part (i), the answers are rather unusual decimals, but a check with the online plotter shows that the answers should be correct.

the other unusual thing about this question is that the second equation is actually equation of ellipse. In A Maths learn equation of circles but not equation of ellipse.
