3 boxes: A, B and C.

Total = A + B + C = 84 marbles

Assuming Sarah already moved marbles from B and C to A, all 3 boxes will have equal marbles.

84 marbles are split equally between A, B and C. (A=B=C)

So each box will have 28 marbles. (84/3)

If we return the marbles back to B and C (take back 5 and give back 3 respectively), A will have (28-3+5= 30 marbles)

Therefore, A originally had 30 marbles. (B has 23; C has 31; total 84)
