Correct answer should be 2450 cm2.
If really want to calculate as circle area minus unshaded area, the unshaded area should be 2 "leaf-shaped" regions, not 2 quarter circles, but this is making things unnecessarily complicated.
The easier way to do this type of question is to use cut-and-paste and re-arrange the given shape to another shape that can be calculated easily.
By cutting the upper part of the shaded figure into 2 quarter circles and re-arrange to lower part of figure, you get a rectangle of length 70cm and width 35cm.
area of rectangle = 70cm x 35cm = 2450 cm2.
