I call this method ‘’Big minus Small’, in this case, larger rectangle minus small rectangle. Just imagine taking a larger piece of paper, cutting the smaller piece out, leaving behind the area of the concrete path.

My method is outer- inner
20x14=280
12x18=216
280-216=64
But I will follow your method thank you

what you’re doing is exactly the same! it’ll be better to show the addition of 1 m, don’t just magically pop out 20 and 14 ;)
