I'm using guess and check method, not sure if its still taught now because
1. Time consuming, only do when have lots of time to spare in test (i usually rush the front so i have a lot of time to do this kind of thing ><)
2. Frustrates everyone cause you can guess 10000000 times and get it wrong.
In this case I was lazy so i just skipped and guessed numbers bigger than 10 because the total money left was more than 1000.
Please share another method I want to know!

Basically for my answer in case it looks messy (i know it is sorry) I'm trying to guess the number to multiply the ratio to get to the original amount of $$$. Again, its very time consuming.. But effective if you have no other solutions you can think of + have a lot of time to try. So at the top you see a few equations I wrote, I used it to calculate the $$$ in the stages, please keep in mind I'm not calculating NUMBER OF NOTES I'm calculating the $$$ to guess which number is the correct multiple. So by trying to get the correct number multiple, i can find how many notes there are because they gave the ratio and we all know, ratio is a simplified version, meaning it has been divided to get to where it is now
