a) x and y can be anything as long as it adds up to -10
Eg. X = -4 and Y = -6 or X = 1 and Y = -11
b) similarly, X and Y can be anything as long as X subtracts Y to give -10
Eg. X = -4 and Y = 6 or X = 1 and Y = 11
