this question has a minor flaw !

for parts (i) & (ii), solution is straight-forward.

for part (iii), it is likely that the teacher who set this question, expect the student to work out area of triangle DEC by comparing triangle DEC with triangle AEC.

unfortunately, given area of triangle AEC cannot be correct.

using Pythagoras theorem, can work out height of triangle DEC, so …
area of triangle DEC = 21.3 cm2
which means that ...
area of triangle AEC = 10.7 cm2
