The equation of proportionality has already been provided for you, so that you do not need to form your equation. This question tells us two things.

1. The proportionality constant k is fixed for this question. The variables are a, b and c and can change.

2. In an equation, there can be two variables at the same time. Lots of things in real life (eg chemical reactions) are dependent on two or more variables at the same time.
