since the plastic with the triangle cut out is clear? when put together with the wooden block (with the circle cut out) blue light will shine through with the triangle outline in the middle

But i don quite understand -- the clear plastic block got a triangle cut out, hence most light will pass through THE BLOCK as well as the TRIANGLE right? How/why the triangle outline shown?

no no the block is opaque so nothing passes through it. hence light will just pass through the circle and since there is a triangle cutout, you can see the outline of the triangle as well
The plastic block (with triangle) is "clear plastic" as mentioned in qn right?
