Combined rate of the taps
= 3l/min + 0.5l/min = 3.5l/min
Since it took 4 min to fill the tank completely,
Volume of tank when full
= 4 x 3.5l/min
= 14l
14l = 14 x 1000cm³ = 14 000 cm³
Height of tank = volume of tank÷base area
= 14000cm³ ÷ 500cm²
= 28cm
= 3l/min + 0.5l/min = 3.5l/min
