Tangent is opposite over adjacent (TOA).
By looking at the right-angled triangle ΔANB, the opposite side is length AN and adjacent side is length NB.
Hence,
tan ∠ABN
= AN/NB
= 12/(5+11)
= 12/16
= 3/4
